Caitlin has been attending conventions since Anime Expo 2003, when she was but a mere sophomore in high school. Now, she's extended her repertoire of conventions far beyond Anime Expo to Mikomicon, Paific Media Expo, Anime Los Angeles, Fanime, and even Nan Desu Kan 2009. She is an avid cosplayer, and can be seen mostly doing pair cosplay with her younger sister Julia. Together, they form We're Not Twins Cosplay.Caitlin is a graduate of Scripps College in Claremont, CA. She has a B.A. in Studio Art with a focus on digital media combined with analog practices. She became Traveling Valentine's resident photographer in 2009. She is also a photographer, and hopes to make a career in it someday. She's heavily influenced by the fantastical photography of Annie Leibovitz, and the Japanese aesthetic. Fortunately, there are plenty of cosplayers who want their picture taken (according to her, at least). Fandom-wise, Caitlin enjoys the occasional shounen series, but much prefers the more girly-animes, preferably with a darker magic or occult theme. Her favorite series is xxxHOLiC, followed by Kuroshitsuji and Detective Conan. She's currently giving Higashi no Eden a tryand freaking loving it. In her spare time (when she isn't taking photos, editing photos, working on cosplay, going to cons, or gearing up to graduate) she enjoys reading and roleplaying on LiveJournal.
Julia started attending conventions out on the West Coast around three years ago. At the tender age of fifteen, Julia attended AX '06 with her older sister Caitlin and immediately loved the atmosphere of anime cons. To this day, Julia has attended numerous west coast anime conventions. She's an avid cosplayer and a regular participant in Masquerade. You can often find her cosplaying along side her sister Caitlin and is proud to call herself the other half of We're Not Twins Cosplay. Julia is currently a Senior at Chaminade High School and plans to attend Sarah Lawrence College(Bronxville, New York) in the fall as a Theater Major. She loves acting and performance, her forte being Comedy Improvisation. When it comes to fandom, Julia's tastes lie all over the place. She can be reading gooey shoujo one day and a gritty shonen action series the next. But in general, Julia enjoys sports and horror/thriller anime/manga. Video games are also an avid passion of Julia's, along with western cartoons and primetime shows from the 80's, most notably Murder, She Wrote starring her idol Angela Lansbury.
