"I stole the entire hotel room, actually. Armchair, dressing-table, carpet. Even the fitted wardrobe. The only thing I didn't take were the towels."

Early to bed and early to rise makes a cosplayer awake and hungry. Victoria and I had an AVA (amateur voice actor) brunch at CoCo's to attend. Victoria is a veteran to the online AVA community. During the time I started, there was no such thing as an online AVA community. Also during the time I started, there were no such word as "online." The word "Internet" did not exist either (What did sad, lonely men download before that?). Since we knew where the CoCo's was from yesterday's dinner experiment, it was an efficient walk. The "Hellsing" gathering may have been yesterday, but I was wearing Young Walter today because I needed Walter to shift into a different costume. Victoria was Yomiko Readman. Meeting Tiffany and Eurydice was nice. Food consisted of a breakfast burrito that I decided to ration for dinner later. I was already getting odd stares as Young Walter. I guess doing one quick pose with my wires may have set the patrons off (bloodstains on my shirt didn't help much). But once I changed from Walter to Kenji Murasame, I got more stares. The people who were staring had it easy. They just had to watch, I had to wear this pink hat and pink trench coat.

We returned to the con center for some dealer room goodness. The dumpster-diving for freebies continued. A booth selling male school uniforms caught my eye. I was having trouble locating a good uniform my size that didn't look like someone used it for target practice (though I do plan to do a manga "Battle Royale" character with it). Eventually I found one that had promise. But there were no mirrors to view myself with so I had Victoria assist me in my viewing. I liked it but was afraid of the price since there was no price tag on it. Most uniforms were tagged at $80 each. The one I got was $50. Sold. During Murasame time, I was GLOMP'd by some girl mistaking me for Subaru. Sorry, I didn't bring him this time. At least no more people were thinking I was a pink version of Alucard. And also I stupidly stumbled onto some guy taking portrait pics with a draped background near the dealer room. That guy was as creepy as he was rude.

Hasty Giant Robo Gathering
Makes for a good Azumanga Daioh male. I'll take it.
Not that Murasame actually needs First Aid.
Murasame meets Death (UsagiMylene) for the millionth time.

Victoria and I did some observations of the con outdoor area from the 2nd floor. I got to see some of the "Final Fantasy" gathering from above. I never did see the overhyped Sephiroth costume I heard about. But I have no complaints since I never got around to playing FFVII seriously enough to encounter Sephiroth.

Victoria and I had to play beat the clock in order to avoid a repeat of last year's absence from the Cosplay.com gathering. We had to march to the hotel room to change into our Lupin costumes and then march back to the con area for the Cosplay.com Group Picture. I'm planted somewhere near Adella and raising my P38 in the air. The YATTA singers were bloody annoying. There wasn't much point in getting someone to take a pic with my camera (there'd be too much confusion getting the camera back) so I took a film clip of the photographers.

Then came the pearl of the morning: "Lupin the 3rd" gathering. It looked like "Naruro" was having a gathering or two (or maybe 50). Ah, fuggedabout them. Maybe we can filch a few headbands from them and sell it for scrap metal later. It was great seeing all the various Lupins. I'm glad I chose to do "Twilight Gemini" Lupin because I couldn't fit my green or red coat in my garment bag. The other choice would have been boxer Lupin, except it'd be a very inaccurate costume since I don't have Lupin boxers yet. Victoria was very cute as Fujiko. My camera ran out of memory space during the actual gathering though (D'oh!). We spotted the Initial D car and took the chance to photograph it.
