Back To Reality
"On behalf of Leisure World International, may we be the first to say, welcome back to reality."
Not a bad AX report for someone who was not officially at AX. This wonderful holiday was exactly what I needed. There may have been some drama, tensions and other generally bad times had by others from things like Masquerade, AMV's, long lines, certain cosplayers, and other matters. But for me, these trivial events were too unimportant to focus on. Half the time I wasn't anywhere near the drama and the other half of the time I was too busy mingling with people to care. If you let the bad events get to you, you're going to have a bad time. I now go to conventions for a vacation. And with the number of cons scheduled in California, I've got lots of vacation time planned.
So as I return home to prepare for Fall classes and resume my new jobs, I'm glad to say that this year's Anime Expo was one of my favorite Anime Expos. Even though I never officially went. But it's not like the people who check my itinerary and financial records actually read this.
I'd list everyone who helped make the convention experience, but there are simply too many and I dare not intend to leave anyone out. Regardless, I must thank Victoria for our first wonderful year together. Without her, I wouldn't have been able to relax and enjoy the con this year. Here's to many more wonderful years together.
